New Tax Requirements

Items of interest to Maine Agricultural Fairs in 2008 include changes in nonprofit tax filing forms and disclosures and records required. It will be important to be on top of this from January 1, 2008, as you will not be able to put this together at the end of the year. We will provide more information as time goes on.

New Foreign Worker Quotas

The carnivals and shows that depend upon foreign workers are facing a crisis. If they cannot have the manpower they usually employ, they may be unable to continue operating. We are helping owners contact our Maine US Senators. Fairs countrywide have been alerted and asked to intervene in this mater.
